Why Correct Insulation and Ventilation Instead of Just Re-Roofing?

Once those sections of decking were open, covering them back up without addressing what was underneath would have been the wrong move — and honestly, not something Compass is willing to do. The purpose of a roof replacement is to give the homeowner a system that performs correctly for the next several decades. Installing new shingles over a compromised assembly means those shingles are working against a problem from day one.

Re-insulating the affected areas creates a better thermal barrier that reduces unwanted heat transfer in both directions. Correcting the ventilation gives heat and moisture a controlled path out of the roof assembly rather than allowing it to accumulate against the decking.
