Project Overview
Compass Exteriors recently completed a roof replacement in Brentwood, NH, in a neighborhood just off Scrabble Road. This was the kind of project where the finished roof looks clean and straightforward from the ground, but the work underneath is what really determined the quality of the final result. For this home, we installed Owens Corning architectural shingles in Williamsburg Gray with black drip edge around the perimeter.
The shingle color gave the home a sharp, balanced look, while the black drip edge created a clean outline along the roof edges. It is a small detail, but it makes the finished roof look more intentional and complete. Once the old roofing materials were removed, our crew found sections of roof decking that needed to be replaced. Rather than install new shingles over questionable plywood, we completed a partial re-deck using five new sheets. That gave the new roof system a solid surface to fasten to and helped correct the problem before it could lead to future issues. This Brentwood roof replacement also included two brand-new Velux skylights. The existing openings needed some adjustment, so our team completed new reframing to make sure the skylights fit properly. That extra carpentry work helped the units sit correctly, tie into the new roofing system cleanly, and look like they belonged there from the start. We also upgraded the roof penetrations with premium Ultimate Pipe Boots. Pipe boots are not the most noticeable part of a roof, but they are one of the areas where leaks commonly develop when lower-quality materials crack or wear out. Using better components helps protect the home in the places that tend to be most vulnerable over time. Another important detail was the ridge vent protection. Our crew added critter screen to the ridge vents to help prevent pests from getting into the home through the roof ventilation system while still allowing the attic to breathe properly. For homeowners looking for roof replacement in Brentwood, NH or a local roofing contractor near Scrabble Road, this project is a good example of why installation details matter. From plywood replacement and skylight reframing to upgraded pipe boots, black drip edge, and ridge vent protection, Compass Exteriors focused on building a complete roof system designed to protect the home for years to come.
Neighborhoods off Scrabble Road are among the many areas covered by siding and roofing projects in Brentwood, where the crew regularly finds and replaces compromised decking before installing new shingles.
